More Info

Rap artist from Los Angeles Charles X (Dale Anthony Doss) blends hip hop, jazz, soul, and rock, cleverly appropriating genres with continuous creativity. He used to live in France, where he recorded his first albums. This 5th album “EID²”(Earth in Distress, Empire in Decline) is more personal and engaged. He alternates sharp phrasing and luminous melodic arrangements, based on a nostalgic soul and energic rap.

Both in his mind and writing, Charles X has revolutionary but pacifist desires – a bit of a hippy soul too. As a plan set up a long time ago, to remind us that a 25 year-old African-American man can offer a lettered alternative to bosses like Drake and Future.”
